Retired from the Baltimore County Police Department in Maryland, an agency known worldwide as one of
the best, Patrick "Pat" Rooney held assignments in virtually every field within the Department. The last
decade of his career was spent concentrating on crime reduction and prevention. Pat was one of the first
officers assigned to the nationally recognized Business Patrol Initiative Program which was specifically
formed to identify and combat specific crimes in and around business communities and develop strategies
to safeguard citizens and properties in those areas.
For 21 of the 23 years with Baltimore County, Pat was assigned to the Department's highly renowned
Dignitary Witness Protection Team. While in that assignment he was afforded the opportunity and
priviledge to protect numerous local, state, national, and international officials, including every President and
Vice-President during that time.
Pat is Certified in Homeland Security (CHS-III), is a licensed Private Detective and a certified investigator
by the Council for Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR), and has conducted security operations
for several highly recognized international firms.
Pat is also retired from the United States Naval Reserve as a Security Chief Warrant Officer. A highly
regarded expert in the fields of anti & counter terrorism, force protection, and physical security, 'Chief' has
conducted security operations guarding some of our nations most critical assets. He also served as a Senior
Law Enforcement Instructor for most of his years of service.
Mr. Rooney is a past vice-chair of the Baltimore Chapter of ASIS International and holds memberships in
multiple other organizations including the International Association for Counterterrorism & Security
Professionals as well as many other professional organizations too numerous to mention here.
Pat is a Patron Member of the National Rifle Association, Golden Eagle, and a certified NRA Instructor in several disciplines.
As a security consultant to several firms and organizations, Mr. Rooney also has several published works
dealing with security and risk management.
Pat has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Towson University and an Associates Degree in Criminal
Justice.
